　　The original inhabitants of Grenada were Indian Caribbeans. In 1629, French colonists invaded the island, and the Caribbeans all died after heroic resistance. In 1650, French colonists built a fortress on the high ground of the narrow peninsula in the southwestern part of the city of St. George, called the "Royal Fortress". Since then, the construction of St. George's City has begun. Therefore, most historical books regard this year as the year when St. George's Town was built. In 1714, cocoa, coffee and cotton began to be introduced into Grenada. French colonists brought in large numbers of slaves from Africa. The plantation economy gradually established, the "Royal Fortress" gradually became a local trading center, and the scale of the city continued to expand. Since the upper class here is mainly French, the style of house construction basically belongs to the rural style of France in the 18th century. In 1783, the "Royal Fortress" was renamed "Saint George" after it was occupied by Britain under the "Versailles Treaty". From 1795 to 1796, local slaves launched an uprising and once occupied St. George. In 1974, Grenada became independent and St. George became the capital.

It has more connections with the surrounding island countries such as St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Port of St. George is divided into an inner port and an outer port. The inner port is divided into two piers, east and west, which can berth large ocean-going vessels. Because St. George’s Port is surrounded by mountains on three sides, it is not vulnerable to wind and waves. The water in the port is deep and the tidal range is relatively small, making it an ideal place for boating. St. George’s Port has become the largest cruise charter center in the Eastern Caribbean. Singapore Heng Sheng Company received a team from the Robert Trent Jones II Group of Golf Course Architects (RTJ II) to discuss the 18 hole Championship golf course design and construction components of the Grenada National Resort project, developed by Singapore Zheng Sheng Company. In attendance were Jack Lin (Project Manager of golf course construction at Grenada National Resort), Robert 'Trent Jones III (COO of RTJ II), and Mike Gorman. The team had a frank, pleasant, and productive conversation.
